Dedicated to the memory of Miles Spencer

This site is a place to share your memories of, and tributes to Miles. He was such a beautiful human being, I know how much you all loved him, he will be greatly missed. We may read some of your tributes at his celebration, but if you would prefer to do that yourself, please get in touch with his family or me to let them know.

The afternoon will be a time to share your memories with each other and celebrate Miles’ life.

There will be coffees, teas and light refreshments. Just as Miles would have liked, there will be no dress code, he would just want you to be yourselves and enjoy spending time laughing and celebrating his life. If truth be known, he wanted you all to dress as Gandalf but even he admitted that wouldn’t be practical!!

The Assembly Hall has step free access & accessible toilet but sadly, no parking. The closest tube is Highbury Islington (5 mins walk) or Angel (15 mins walk) and the celebration with be between 2-6pm.

Please feel free to post any photos you would like to share below.

As you have gathered, this won’t be a traditional funeral so no need for any flowers etc, but if you would like to donate to St. Christopher’s Hospice who took great care of Miles and I, supporting his wishes at the end, please use the link below.

Please feel free to share this page widely and post as many photos as you like via the links below. If you would like to share any music, let me know in the tributes, I will add it to the playlist for the day.

For friends further afield or for those that can’t make it, please use this link to hear Miles’ story being read between 2:30-3:15pm.

Please could you let me know by Friday 2nd June whether you will be attending via email. My email address is lucindosbrown@gmail.com.

With much love,

Thoughts

Missing Down in the Junction, south of the Thames, Lies a very big hole, in a small circle of friends. Where once it was filled, with a round beaming face, The hole now feels, a very different place. In abundance the group socialised, Attending pubs and parties aplenty, The years have flown by, Since they first met in their twenties. From local excursions to festival fields, Summertime barbecues and pre-Christmas meals, Always the presence of the chubby cherub was felt, The stories he shared and laughter he dealt. From political rants about social injustice, Through work-based woes, or delights of culinary goodness, We were treated to insights from a charming individual, Always speaking his mind and constantly kind. Music a shared love; from Reggae and Dub, To real Techno bangers, where we’d dance in a club. But House always put a particular smile on his face, And his special House wiggle was seen in many a place. The youngest group members, Will miss him dearly too, Having grown up in his presence, His illness, then loss, left them unsure what to do. Days in the park will never be the same, Hours lounging in the sun will recall his final pain. But the great memories live on, and forever he will be, In our minds and our hearts, as we sit, under magic tree. -------- Endless love from the LJ crew xx
